As a church family, we have some changes coming up with Norman & Liz’s move to Aussie early 2018. We want to keep everyone completely up-to-date about the progress being made to find a suitable replacement for Papsda’s unique makeup.
This is the space where you can find out the latest news, and where you can make suggestions and ask questions.
2 Dec: Monday evening, 11 December will be our final business meeting for the year. It is here where we will look at ministry placement (who is in what role), board and leadership team re-structure and the interim plan as we navigate finding a new lead pastor. Business meetings have an unexciting name but they really do have meaning in the life of our church and knowing where we are headed. This meeting is for anyone that considers Papsda their home or anyone who is thinking about that. Join us in the dining room at 7:30pm.
15 Nov: The search team have met several times over the past few weeks and have investigated several possibilities of potential lead pastors for Papsda. At this time there is no recommendation and the team is continuing to work on this and expect it may take some months. In the meantime, our staff and elders are developing a plan that will ensure we have strong leadership and direction in the interim.
4 Nov: Following church lunch, a group of about 50 attendees and members gathered to hear from Norman the latest news was in the process. Leanne Davies shared how 2 weeks ago, the North NZ Conference had agreed on Papsda forming a Search Team to go through the process of finding a new leader for Papsda. (Search Team listed below). Emphasis has been placed on finding the right person for the role, rather than rushing the decision in time for Norman and Liz’s departure in January. The process may take some time, especially if we need to search further than the South Pacific Division.
19 Oct: This week Norman and the elders met to talk about what might be an interim plan while we form a search team to go through the process of finding someone that would be the right “fit” for this time and place in Papsda’s reality. As more information or plans emerge we will be looking for ways to keep important thoughts and updates coming your way. On Sabbath, 4 November after church lunch, all those who would like are welcome to join for a “town hall/family meeting” about the process so far and the plans moving forward.
