At Papsda we believe that God has called us to serve others with love. It’s one of our core values to selflessly serve. As a part of that plan, we have ‘adopted’ a small village in rural Cambodia. We send volunteer teams to Cambodia at least once per year to build and equip. This year, we have started a relationship with Captivating International, specifically their anti-trafficking project in Nepal. In July 2018 we are going back to South Africa to the Khomelela Community Centre in Bushbuck Ridge.
In July, a team of 28 Papsda-ites are heading to South Africa to make a difference. This is our 5th trip to South Africa (our 4th to Khomelela Community Centre) since 2009.
This time the team will be:
- building a preschool for 110 AIDS orphans
- providing in-service training for preschool teachers
- providing in-service training for community health care workers
- running a Kids Club for 100 kids
- offering hope and encouragement to the team and the kids
How can you help?
At the recent Charity Auction on 26 May, we raised the target of $20,000 to build the new preschool, PLUS an extra $10,000 to build an extra toilet block. One of the extra goals we had was to raise enough for a water system. If you’d like to contribute to a much needed new water system, we are still in need of $12,000.

LATEST NEWS: We have a report from our anti sex-trafficking partners in Nepal, Captivating International, and 3Angels Nepal. 126 girls and women were intercepted because someone from Papsda said they’d help. Read about it here.
The Cambodian village we adopted in the Pursat Province several years ago is absolutely thriving. Such a difference has been made in the health and hope of the people there. We have established a preschool, built numerous water wells and latrines. We’ve also taught sewing, gardening, engine mechanics which in turn has meant income for struggling families. Basic hygiene education has made a real difference in the everyday lives of the villagers. Regular updates are posted on our Facebook page.
