The Greatest Shadow

Saturday, 9 June 2018. Part 1: Flipping The Switch
Often we spend our life in shadows created when our heart tries to build its identity around something other than God. We think we can achieve our own sense of self-worth but that just generally creates an over-inflated or a deflated ego. The good news is it doesn’t have to be that way. We can flip the switch, we can choose to live a different way. Join us this week as we begin to shed light on our shadows.

Saturday, 16 June 2018: Part 2: Fight or Flight
“We live in a dualistic system of reward and punishment” (Richard Rohr) where people are either right or wrong, good or bad, short or tall, fat or thin! This approach to people and to life makes perfect sense to the ego! And it can’t help but position God as the ultimate punisher! But what if there is a different way to view people, to view life, to view God? What if we were to discover the Jesus approach, a gospel approach to life that can free us from the dualistic economy of the ego? What if we learnt to step into God’s economy of grace … together?

Saturday, 23 June 2018: Part 3: Becoming My True Self
Bible teaching more often than not is by way of metaphor using real-life stories. This week we explore the story of Jacob and Esau in Genesis 27 & 28 and what this tells us about ourselves and about God. How does Jacob’s realisation completely change his attitudes and behaviour for the rest of his life? If we realised the same radical idea, what would it change for the rest of our lives?
