For many Christians, coming to terms with a loved one’s sexuality can be challenging. As Christians, sexuality is not a common topic for open discussion. For some cultures within the church, there may be taboo surrounding the topic and it is never discussed at all.
For those who are LGBTQI+, a Christian environment can create even more of a challenge when deciding on when, how, or if they come out to their loved ones and friends. For those loved ones and friends to whom they have come out, the information may be so overwhelming that they are unable to provide the care and support their LGBTQI+ loved one needs which can be very damaging to ongoing relationships.
Te Aroha life group is created to provide a safe and caring environment to support the families and friends of the LGBTQI+ community. If you have a loved one who is LGBTQI+ or might be LGBTQI+ and would like to learn more about how to support them in a loving, non-judgmental and accepting manner, then feel free to attend our life-group.
You will meet with others in a confidential, supportive environment surrounded by friends, and allies travelling on a similar journey.
No matter where you’re at, this is a place that you’re welcome and if you need someone to talk to then feel free to contact Karyn and she can connect you with the right people.
